Another question: Once I finally get these wiper arms off, how do I get them back on? The Chevy parts department told me that you just press it back on and then tighten the bolt. Does this make sense to those of you who have done this before? The only reason I am taking off the wiper arms is to replace the fender. Is there any easier way to do this? Thanks again,
The shaft is a splined tapered shaft, so just make sure you align them to where you want them,[parked] and then tighten the nut.. the taper can make that very tight [that's why it comes off so hard]

The fender is off and the wiper arms stayed on. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO TAKE OFF YOUR WIPER ARMS TO REPLACE YOUR FENDER. I'm going to post this in a separate thread to the message board to correct the Haynes manual misinformation. Sheesh. Thanks for all the help.
