Help, engine running on 4 cyls?

Hi Guys,

Changed the clutch in my lt1 this weekend, there was so much oil on the underside that I decided to fix the leaky intake, and go ahead and replace the rear main seal.

Well, started the car up this morning and running a bit rough. Drove it around the block and could hardly get it to go up the hill.

While the injectors were off, the little piece of white plastic right above the o ring on the #2 injector had cracked and fell off. So I thought this may be the problem. While running, I uplugged this injector and nothing happened. Unplugged another and found that the motor really bogged.

However furtther checking, and I noticed that only unplugging #1,7 and 4 and 6 make the engine stumble.

I checked the voltage going into #4 and it was 13.x v. Checked #1 0 volts, checked #2 0 volts. Checked resistance on #2 and it was 13.7 about the same as #4.

It seems for some reason the computer has shut off 4 cylinders can this be possible? I can't think of any other reason why they would not be firing. There is NO check service engine soon light. nothing.

Any ideas? Any approaches to troubleshoot this system?

TIA,

Tim

The +12V to the power wire of each injector is supplied via two fuses in the power box on the drivers side fender. The PCM simply supplies the "ground" to fire the injector. If you have a blown fuse in position #10, it will take out #1, #4, #6 and #7 injectors. The other fuse handles (surprise) #2, #3, #5 and #8.

thanks injuneer, that was the problem. Was just telling the old lady it may be a fuse when I checked your post. Thanks for the quick response, I was dumbfounded at first, killed too many brain cells in this lifetime...
Car runs pretty well for running on only 4 cyls!

Now I can just hope I fixed the oil leaks!

thanks again!
