HELP!!! CAR WONT START!!

I had my car parked out in front of my friends house last night. Well it rained all night, and when I went to pick it up this morning, it wouldn't start. I turn the key and nothing happens. My lights, windows, and stereo all work. My battery guage shows 13. Any ideas? All help is greatly appreciated. I need my car! Thanks,

Brian

When you say nothing happens do you mean no clicking or cranking? If it doesn't crank and the security light isn't on then try tapping the starter. If your security light is on then you probably have a theft deterrent problem. Try a spare key. If this doesn't work and the starter doesn't sound like it's trying to work, and it's an auto, try pulling the shifter into neutral and starting the engine. If its a manual then try push starting it. Good luck.

i would say either your clutch switch the one when you push down the pedal to start the car or your ignition switch.

It started today, but it wasn't normal. I was holding the key in the "Start" position for a second or two, and then the starter kicked in and it cranked. I already checked my clutch/neutral safety wires, and they're not the problem. Now it has a delay before it will try to crank. Any ideas? All help is appreciated. Thanks,

Brian

Oh yeah, my car didn't come with the stock security system either.
