Help With Cam Decision...
#16
I like the 221/227 i put it in a few months ago and like it alot for NOW. Might be changing to the 224/230 soon, because I need more top end. XE cams from what I've read and learned fall off at high rpms. My car 60" is between 1.83-1.90, but mph is between 106-108, so you see why i might go to the CC305 or 224/230. I run it every weekend at sacramento raceway and manage to do between 12.89- 12.93(some 13.00's with horrible 60"). So the cam is lovely for low end tq and hp, just needs more mph on the top end! Considering I only have that cam, hooker shorties, stock heads, the cam is doing something for me. Hope that helps alittle about this cam!

Okay, so I guess I will go with the 224/230 112lsa. What all do I need for the install? What all should I change out? Where is the best place (price and service) to get it from?
Thanks for all your help guys! And if anyone (in Houston area) is willing to help me with the install, I will supply the beer.

218/224 gets my vote, just put one in my car and love it. Combination motorsports warned me about the possibility of not passing emissions with the 224/230.
I did a lot of searching on these two cams. I read a lot of posts where people lost low end and had some cam surge with the 224/230.
I drive my car everyday and with the 218/224 it drives like it did before, but pulls so much harder.
