Exclamation Help With A Built 355 (no Power)

Okay guys I hope you can help me on this one. I have a 95 lt1 camaro and just got done putting it together and went to the track and went slower then i did stock with a cam back then. I went 13.1 at 108 now im going 13.2 at 106. Something is not right. Below is a list of everything I have done to it.

355 forged pistons,stage 2 ported heads shaves .28, 236/242-521/541@112 cam, 30svo injectors,58tb,headers full exhaust,adj regulater,stock fuel pump,1.5 RR,erson lifters,stock pushrods,no emmisons on cars,electric water pump,solid motor mounts and a tune from pcmforless with tunercat,4.10 gears and a 6speed

The cars runs and sounds great. I get a 1.89,1.91 60ft, but nothing else. The rpms dont feel like thier climbing as fast as they use too. I adjusted the rockers many times ,just to make sure they werent to tight. Compression is great and a leak down test was fine. The only thing I can think is its a fuel proplem or timing. Something isnt right, im missing like 100hp somewhere.Everybody I talk to really has no idea. Everybody says get it dynoed and fined out what the a/f is....let me know what you all think. thanks

Have you checked the fuel pressure at WOT/max RPM? That "stock fuel pump" might be getting a little tired at this point.

Have you scanned it? Any sign of knock retard - or was it reduced or "programmed out" with the tune? The solid motor mounts have popped up in a couple threads where people are having problems with knock retard.

Did you verify the pushrods are the correct length?

Can we assume the stock heads were only planed 0.028".... and not .28 ?

I'd look at the fuel pressure. My car was having a low hp problem. It ended up being the stock 140k mile fuel pump. The car started right up and had no hesitations it just felt like it hit a brick wall in the upper RPM's. I knew that wasn't possible with my heads and cam. I checked the springs, put in new comp R lifters. It ended up being the pump. A Racetronix pump and wiring harness fixed the problem. Now the car will scream and never stop pulling.

my 355 feels very sluggish as well. I put a stock fuel pump in at 80k and now I have 155k on the car, and about 3k on my 355. It seems to plateau on the power band up high, so im positive its that stock fuel pump.

Thanks for your help guys. Im going to hook-up my fuel guage and tape it to the window and go see what happens. I will also watch freescan when I get on it to watch for timing being pulled out. As for the pushrods, the geomtry of the rockers look great. Also the heads were shaves .028 not .28....sorry about that. The knock retard is still programmed in. I hope its the fuel pump. If it is i might as well change the filter too. Thanks agian guys. I will let you know what I find. Also whats a good fuel pressure at wot?

You should see at least 40psi at WOT. Best thing to do is check the pressure at idle, with the vacuum line disconnected. Should be between 41-47psi. At WOT, the pressure should be within 2psi of whatever you saw at idle, no vacuum.

Re: Help With A Built 355 (no Power)

maybe ur fuel pressure is low (i know everyone else said that)

why not throw a fuel pres gauge on there and see what ure getting?

also whats ur timing? maybe the car is getting false knock and its pulling some insane timing?
