Heater Core is BUSTED, anyone know how to bypass or replace???

I thought it was going, but today verified it, there is a puddle in my passanger floor board. Went out just in time for summer

So, anyone know where the heater core gets its water from, and if I can just connect the hose going into it and out of it?

Or, is it real hard to replace??

Thanks,
James

When looking in the engine bay look towards the passenger side back to the fire wall. It's right there.

replacing it is fairly simple...you have to take apart underneath the 'glove box' and take out the black plastic box, the heater core is there. it's just a lot of wiggling. should take no more than an hour..maybe 2 if you have a lot of trouble wiggling it. Don't forget to get a new gasket for the heater core, otherwise your heat will be pretty weak in the winter time.

Go to a parts store and grab a U bend, or a few 90 degree bends and some clamps. Then take the two heater hoses going into the passenger side from the engine and connect them. Temporary, but effective.

If you bypass the heater; be prepared for hotter temps at least from what I saw when I did it. Another word of advice is do not reconnect the little connector that holds the two heater core lines together so if you have to replace it again you just disconnect and reconnect---
