found this yesterday. i'm excited. i'll be running this kit and a bare unmolested TFS head with a gm847 cam, and some springs/locks/valves/retainers from either tfs or from summit. summit has some valves for 8 bucks each and i think i can afford that...or, i'll end up with the 847 cam and the assembled heads from TFS. either way it's around 3k and that's what i have for the rebuild.

machine work is free, as well as assembly and labor. now i need a good timing set and oil pump and i'll be good to go.

Looks like that rotating assembly is for a two piece rear main block, won't work with an LT1.

The original TFS LT1 heads had 62cc combustion chambers, which would drop your CR into the 9's if left "unmolested". TFS seems to have a bit of split personality, since their online catalog listing now says in one place they have 55cc chambers, and 62cc in another on the same page.

You can get a 1 pc with that kit it is a option at the bottom. If I can make one suggestion I would spend extra $169.00 and upgrade to the probe pistons and the 6.0 rods. The probe pistons are a very close to the je's but are more affordable. And the 6.0 rods will be much stronger. You should decide on flat, dome or dish. It depends on your compression. The kb's are junk.

yeah...i was thinking of upgrading to the SRP's with a 5.7 rod. and the kit can be 'upgraded' to the one piece.

the kit is fully forged which is what i want and i'd like to keep the srp's. i'll stick with flat since i'm going for a streetable 10 seconds no matter how i get there...nos, charged or NA...whatever. i can upgrade or port the heads later but for now i'm porting stock with a hand job. new valves, springs, rockers and a cam.

keeping it under 2500 will be nice for now.
