heads cam on a stock auto

i currently have the mods in my sig plus SA comp pro mag..isky springs good to .550 lift, and prted stock heads..im looking to go with a cam that will run good on my stock torque converter..will an LT4 hotcam do the trick? looking for a little gain without losing the streetability..cant afford the T56 conversion for a while so im just gonna keep the auto until she lets go (which coule be years)..any suggestions, not looking for a custom cam just something somewhat generic..maybe a CC 304

Re: heads cam on a stock auto

I been running a cc 503 cam. Specs in sig. It's the perfect cam imo. Just a tad weak on the brakes after startup but it almost immediately goes away. Using the stock TC it will "roll" on you without brakes since you should have the pcm idle increased a couple of 100rpm. The down side is that I make so much power now the trans 1-2 band is starting to slip. This started happening less than 500 miles after the cam install. Doing a t56 swap now. The 4l60e is just is to weak and way too expensive to upgrade once you get about 380+hp to the wheels.
