Heads/Cam build.. just got it out today, many problems
These are my issues
1) The car surges slightly at both idle and while I'm driving it... kinda like power is pulsing while I'm cruising around or sitting at a stop sign
2)car stalls out at least half the time when it's allowed to sit at idle like at a stop sign or if I'm turning through a parking lot going only a few miles per hour
3)transmission will not engage, the fluid seems fine, brand new, full, the torque converter is a 2800-3200 ACC converter with double antiballooning plates... the tranny is a stock 4L60e
I have no pulled a single hole ****, never dead hooked, haven't even taken it past 5k rpms yet (we set the shift points at 6200)
I drove it for about 30-40 miles today for the first time since all the mods and it seemed to be ok except when it stalled out on campus in a parking lot and wouldn't stay at idle
the car is still stalling half the time and after the car has been running for more than 5 or 10 minutes now something isn't hooking, whether its in the computer, the tranny or what I have no idea... I can just rev the engine and the car doesn't move when in gear, any gear, 1 2 D or OD
I had to coast it into a ladies yard and I went back for it and it was engaging again so I drove it home.... WTF?!?!?!?!
Any help or advice would be much appreciated

the tune is a pcmforless tune, I gave him every detail of my car and I'm running the same cam he ran for years, so he's pretty familiar with tuning a CC306 LT1... I'm not doing anything tricky with the setup, pretty standard, so I figured there's no reason the tune should be off, especially from them
2nd... what could the problem be with the tranny?? one minute I'm driving and the next it wont engage at all... could it be the brand new stall I have in it or something inside the tranny???

Separate the problems into two posts, and put the tranny problem on the "Drivetrain" forum. There are some 4L60E experts there that should be able to help.
Sounds like you may have a problem with the IAC valve, as far as stalling, and failing to hold idle. Do you have a scanner that would allow you to watch the IAC counts, to see how the PCM is responding to the idle issues? Have you checked the vacuum at idle, or do you have the ability to monitor the MAP readings?

thanks guys
I hope to get it scanned this weekend and I'll be checking the vacuum as well
hopefully that along with adjusting my throttle body will solve the engine issues... now if I could just magically generate 1500 bucks I could solve my last remaining issue, the tranny

Sounds like a busted tranny pump. If that's the case, you may want to do a little more research on how to properly install and seat a torque converter. Pull the trans line at the cooler/radiator and start the car. If there is no flow, I highly recommend you pull the trans and take it down to Frank at CPT. He's got a nice running LT1 so he may also be able to shed some light on the stalling problem.
Typical after cam installs.
You have to raise idle slightly by increasing the amout of air that slips by the TB with the throttle "shut".
This can be accomplished by bending the throttle stop on a stock throttle
body or adjusting the stop screw on aftermarket throttle bodies.
It doesn't matter what the tune has for "desired idle", the IAC can't open
far enough to compensate for the lack of air. Once you adjust the throttle
blades, you'll find that the IAC settles back into a reasonable position.
Expect to end up around 750-850 depending on the cam.
DO NOT drill holes in the throttle plates.
Double-check your shifter and detent cables on the tranny.
Also make sure that the wiring harness is seated properly and not melting over the exhaust pipes somewhere.
