GM built my car differently from the rest of the 4th gen LT1 f-bodies.
If anything, my ride height is lower than stock since I have QA1 adjustable shocks and race springs (lower spring rate). I lowered the car in the front via the springs and I even removed the rubber spring isolators and wrapped the top of the spring with rubber heater hose to give the rear a lower stance. When the headers were fit on my car, I went over speed bumps, median strips, poorly maintained roads, etc, to test the ground clearance. Since that time, I now use a custom 3 inch into 4 inch y-pipe and I still can't get the exhaust to scrape. I even pull the front end off of the ground at the track and the headers or over-sized y-pipe don't hit the ground when the car comes down. It must be magic.

My single cat style SLP headers worked out really well for me. I burned one plug wire, but after switching to over the valve cover wires no more problems. Plug access is crappy, but better than stock. The headers have not burned or melted anything else in the engine bay. I don't like how the headers attach to the Y-pipe at all, but that's about my only gripe. I'll be switching to some Hooker LT's with a Y-pipe.

However, you still can purchase the race version of these headers from Dynatech. They have slip on collectors.

Does FLP headers= Finish Line Performance headers, or are they a division of SLP? I only ask that because I know some people with FLP headers, and didn't know if they were any good or not.

Good ground clearance:

I just installed Ceramic Coated Arizona Speed and Marine headers (mid tube, 4:1 header single cat. w/Y-Pipe Constructed of 14 gauge steel with 3/8 flanges. 1 3/4 inch primary tube. HPC-coated (inner & outer surfaces). Y-pipe HPC cermaic coated inside and out. Random Technology High-Flow Catalytic Converter and Magnaflow Cat-back.
Car is dropped two inches with intrax springs and KYB AGX Adjustable Shocks.
