Harmonic Balancer / Damper Question

Does anyone know if this would work for a 94 camaro? I am not sure of all the differences, so I am just wondering. It says for 96-97 camaro.

This really isn't for a performance car, its just needed to get by. Its cheap and it is keyed so I can time my carbed lt1.

Thanks,
Ryan

Do you know from experience? Have you bought one?

The way I see it, it has a keyed hub and degreed balancer. For my application it looks good, but if there is an actual reason not to buy one, I won't. By actual reason, I mean not "cheap pieces of junk"...... just because of the brand. I have a few performance plus products that I have been happy with. There have also been a few that I have been unhappy with so I was just looking for someones opinion of this actual part....

Thanks,
Ryan

The hub length is different between 93-95 and 96/97 because of the crank position sensor added in 1996 with OBD-II. They indicate they supply spacers to correct for the varying hub length, so its hard to see why it would only fit the 96/97 models. You might want to ask them if it fits a 94.

Professional Products is largely a supplier of cheap Chinese rip-off copies of popular US-made aftermarket parts.

A 96-97 balancer is shorter than the 95 & earlier units due to the reluctor. Your belts will not align properly with the wrong unit.

I think it would be fine, for a stock replacement.

I just installed a Powerforce Plus from CNC Motorsports about an hour ago. That's the higher-end $175 SFI, steel version of what you bought. The thin steel spacer they provided seems to have aligned the pulley depth same as stock, but I don't have the accessories back on to double check. Took all I could give it with a 1/2 wratchet to pull it on and ARP lube on the bolt, and I'm not positive I fully seated it yet.

The part looks great, but carb cleaner easily washed some paint off the hub when I was cleaning the threads for Locktite. The box says 'Professional Products, Hawthorne, CA'. Nowhere does it say made in China.

You're asking for trouble, pulling it on with the bolt. Ask anyone that has stripped out their crank threads.
