340rwhp through a stalled automatic transmission is great.
And yes I did say that I pulled 2 car lengths. Heaven forbid a car with a good setup can beat an almighty LSX motored car.
You need to get out more. The hot cam can pull 350 easy in the right set up with the right tune. My example is my car, 340ish with stock PE tables running rich and thru the 3500 stall.
You do not need a BIG cam to make 350, you dont really need that big of a cam to make 400 if the heads are right.

Not knocking the original guy's post, just the shop that was so shocked at the car....very normal.

I simply stated that the owners of the shop were very impressed with what the Lt1 car put down. You say that his numbers aren't impressive and that LS1 cars get mid 300s on boltons. Well lets consider that this LT1 started off with like what 245-250rwhp STOCK. So this car has gained 90rwhp (even higher without the torque converter) with full exhaust, a BABy cam, and cleaned up heads. Now most automatic LS1 cars dyno 290 rwhp STOCK. With full exhaust, a small (not high lift) cam and cleaned up heads dyno what, maybe 360rwhp. So they only pick up like 70rwhp with the same mods. Maybe this is why the owners of the shop were impressed. get a clue before you make ignorant replies.
He can't help it. He's just another one of those dumbass LS1 fanboys that everybody jumps on me about picking on.

It was prety funny when Brook or known as aggiez28 invaded a LS1 dyno day and put down higher number than any LS1. Most shops that have been around for a while still realize LT1s respond well to mods and theres a lot you can do to them to make them as fast or faster than many of the LS1 cars out there.

Dang, what's the big argument here. Those are some very nice Hotcam numbers, especially with the stall.

Be happy for the guy. He deserves it.

Nice numbers. Good luck at the track.

Dan

P.S. Why did the LS1 even get brought up? We are talking about this particular LT1 car that dynoed some good numbers. There will always be something faster, but there is no need to start comparing. Most LS1's are not modded and this LT1 will blow their doors off. Even the modded LS1's better have a decent setup or they will get owned too.

We aren't talking about a CC306 here.

That's fine that you see more modded LS1's down there.

If you look at the number of posts in this forum for LT1's, you'll see that it's about 320,000 compared to LS1's 66,000.

I had no problem getting the numbers in my sig with stock heads. Pretty close to 350 rwhp.

Those are great numbers, but you also have an M6 compared to his stalled A4.

precisely. Your M6 car almost made 350rwhp, not your stalled auto car.
And who cares about that other LS1 board. I presume you are speaking about the ****-ran ls1 board that is always either down, way to high of a server load or banning people for bashing horrible, cheating board sponsers.

I don't care what you people think, this car is an absolute monster on the streets and his setup is great for the limited mods he has done. Ls1s are great and all, but they ain't the only engines around. sometimes I get this feeling from some people, that if you didn't know better, God himself personally crafted the almighty LS1 engine.

i know the M6 has less drivetrain loss than the A4 but exactly how much? 5 or 6 percent?

IMO 2500 is not an aggressive stall, my 2800 is a baby stall.

ppl have different goals, im glad you are happy with your car.....

me personally, i was disappointed when i dynoed
356rwhp/349rwtq with my setup xe224/230--ported heads-boltons. those numbers were with a stock fuel pump crapping out in the high rpms.

i changed the pump, got some drag radials and ran the times in sig.
i suspect i picked up a little rwhp. i will re dyno this spring.
im hoping for 380rwhp out of it.

Nice #'s, but just get it to the track. Those are the only #'s that matter.

My car will probadly never see a dyno (unless its free) but it dose see track time.
