Good numbers though. I should be right around 340RWHP the way my car sits now.
yeap, thats why ls1's have so much more Hp..the heads flow like a mother.

Thats awsome man, great numbesr with that hotcam...makes me wanna get my kit put in!

i dont see any reason why and LS1 owner would be impressed................LS1's dyno almost that much just with boltons............throw in a cam and you can have 370ish rwhp
Just to update this -- My roomate installed the hotcam in his 2002 SS last weekend. He had dynoed 342 with boltons and hit 382 with the hotcam untuned on 89 octane fuel. Makes me sick........

Sounds like you have that car running nice. Did you dyno at Keith Craft in Plano?

Actually his 96 Z numbers were done at RPMotorsports in Lewisville Tx. The car is still a monster, but he is about to sell it. He needs a truck for his job and the camaro just doesn't have the hauling needed.

Oh and to the person who said LS1 cars are so mighty, ask the LS6 owner (yes ZO6) how mighty he felt when I put about 2 cars on him from a 15 punch to about 100 in this particular Z. The look on his face was great. He said to me at the next light, "Does that car have an LS1 in it." I just said, "Nah it has that puny LT1. But it sure did put some cars on you though, didn't it?"

340rwhp from a heads/cam lt1 isnt that great.
a full bolton lt1 should hit 300rwhp
so the heads/cam combo only yeilded you 40rwhp....

full bolt on + cam and some ppl hit 350rwhp.....

if you are happy with it, that is all that matters.

are you saying you pulled on Z06 2 car lengths from 15mph to 100mph?

340 through an auto with a agressive stall is great with the LT4 hot cam. What do you dyno?

I'll put my wimpy H/C 390 RWHP up against you any day.

Guys quit arguing already...

Decent #'s, altho with some tuning I'm sure more could be had.... curious to see some track #'s out of it as well.

LT1's definitenly shouldln't be underestimated. I raised quite a few eyebrows the other night at the track when I pulled off the times in my sig below with my relatively "minimal" mods. Hell, there was a cam'd 6spd LS1 at the track that night as well that only went .1 quicker ET than I on a 1.7 60'

It's quite the battle when trying to keep up with the LS1's, I'm just glad I've been able to hold my own

that shop must not dyno too many LT1s.
Not knocking the HP/TQ it put down b/c mine is only putting down 340 but it is not that impressive. For all the time and money in this car. I really should have had 400+...oh well....

That guy must not know how to drive that z06.. In addition to my z28, I have an 01 z06. My z06 put down 343 to the wheels completely stock. I weighed the car it the track and it is 3050 with 1/2 tank of gas. I would say the chances of your z28 beating a car with the same hp, but with 4-500 lbs less weight are slim.

I think that is good power from your car though, I would be happy to get that from mine someday.

do any of you people realize what an aggresive stall does to your HP numbers. It vastly decreases them. He could of easily seen much more horsepower out of it, without the stall convertor. But what everyone on here fails to realize is that horsepower does not automatically tell who is going to win. I would take a 340 rwhp big stall auto over a 340rwhp 6 spd car any day of the week while drag racing. And yes I am saying that I beat that Zo like that.
Remember this STALLED auto makes TONS of TORQUE down low. So from a 15 punch (still down low) to 100 was nothing. You people should really get out more to the local tracks and see what some stalled autos can do on the drag strip.

Full bolt on + cam LT1s to hit 350 rwhp are normally a BIG aggresive cam not the HOT Cam.
340rwhp through a stalled automatic transmission is great.
And yes I did say that I pulled 2 car lengths. Heaven forbid a car with a good setup can beat an almighty LSX motored car.

Take which ever one you want but I would about bet that the right M6 set up with less RWHP/RWTQ can run the same numbers. How do I know this? Well, b/c it has happened to me.
Maybe you should take into account other factors as well, like weight and gearing.

I run a big stall. When i had an A4 I ran an ST3500, now I have a TH350 and run a 3500 stall. I would still take the M6 with the right set up.

Been down the 8th and QTR a good bit with my 94 so I know how to run the car....
