You need to have it scanned so you can see what's causing the code... otherwise you're just making wild guesses.

Re: got my tune now showing ses light

Push the tiny button on the left side of the ScanMaster face. It will scroll through at least 20 different screens, showing you many of the engine sensor and PCM paramaters. One of them will indicate the DTC's... (funny, I cant even remember the three letters is shows on the left part of the screen for the DTC function - and I've had one for about 8 years) and if there are none, it will indicate "-" on the right side. If there are stored or active codes, it will start scrolling through them, indicating them one at a time in 2-digits. It will continue to scroll through the codes over and over until you switch to another function.

For a list of the codes, go to the very end of my online Scanner writeup:

Could something with the tune be messed up? i think im going to put the old pcm back in today and see if its still throwing the codes unless anyone has a better idea

It has always been my understanding that the SES light only comes on if there is a code.

What was it scanned with? Maybe try another scanner?

that's what i thought but the scanmaster isn't showing anything. I don't think the autozone around here still reads codes.

If it were me I would deffinately have another scanner look her over. Also, I would call the mfg. of your scanner to see what their thoughts are.
