Got my fuel pump out...(pictures)
oh, I should have told you to check the terminal tension on the connecter behind the back seat that goes over to the top of the tank. make sure that term. is not spread. that is one way you could have "fixed" it by taking it apart and putting it back together. good luck though.
Last question here guys. Is it normal for pressure to bleed off slowly after the car has been shut off. Maybe its the aftermarket pump, but after 3 or 4 minutes of the car being off i only have 15-20psi or so.
no it should hold full pressure for several hours. the pump has an internal check valve that keeps fluid from goin backwards from the rail back to the tank. your fuel pres. regulator could also be responsible as described before for the press. bleeding down. or an inj. could be sticky and bleeding down. but you'd prolly know that cause it would run like ***, smell badly like raw gas out the tailpipe.
follow the floorpan toward the back of the car, and up behind the seats. on the drivers side there is a conn. that is where the fuel pump harness comes out from inside the car. where you were supposed to unplug the harness. and it shouldnt have been under press. if the harness wasbeing pulled/stretched, that is prolly your problem. either the wires are broken inside the wire cover(colored rubber coating around the metal wire strands) or the connector was being pulled and creating a poor contact for the terminals. but s ince your having fuel press. issues still, the pump is probably bad.

Oh wow....you mean you're supposed to seal up that yellow white bucket deal??
LMAO....I shoved it up in there and it's been working fine....
Maybe I should take it out and use some HD zipties then???
Damn good thing I trap doored it huh fellas????
Another reason to trap door it...always!,
Ivan
The lines should hold pressure at least a few minutes, it would be usually to hold it for several hours. If its immediately going down to 20 or 0 psi in less than a minute, then you may have a minor issue, if its just the pump check valve and its still making 60psi with the regulator cranked up you have nothing to worry about. Most of mime will go down to 20psi in just a few minutes and then hold 10-20 psi for 15-30 minutes.
That flexible brown hose on there appears to be the stock hose, it will not fit on the end of a Walbro pump unless they are making a connector for it now. A rubber hose and clamp have to go on the Walbro.
And BTW, in the past year there has been an influx of bad Walbro pumps...some claim it was their manufacturing facility was changed and the flaw went undetected for a while and I've also read that there were some Chinese fake Walbros, and they weren't lasting very long.

its possible its not a walbro, but ive had two stock pumps before this and neither of them were this loud. Sounds exactly like my buddies walbro 255 in his 3000gt.
Was making 60psi and the regulator wasnt even cranked up all the way so i guess im okay for now. Thanks guys
