Question got error codes 16 and 48

Scanned my car today and got two codes:

16-Low-Res Fai;
48- MAF System fail

Any ideas what those codes mean and what should I do to correct it

DTC 16 means that the PCM could not find the low resolution pulse from the OptiSpark oiptical module. If your engine is still running, it has to be a "stored" code, and not an active code, since the engine will not run without the low res pulse. Clear the code and see how soon it comes back. It is not unusual to find this as a stored code once in a while, but if it comes back often, it could be a developing problem with the Opti or the harness connectors for the Opti.

DTC 48 means there is a problem with the MAF sensor circuit. Check the harness connector. Check the pink wire and see if it has +12V on it.

Pull the "PCM BAT" fuse for 30-seconds. Alternatively, disconnect the battery for 30-seconds, but be sure you know the radio security code before you pull the power.
