Got 5 codes today. What exactly do they mean?
code 16: ign system problem, loss of low res pulse signal
code 33: map sensor signal voltage is too high
code 43: elec spark control module or sensor problem
code 44: left oxygen sensor lean
code 64: right oxy sensor lean
I'm thinking maybe my oxygen sensors are reading lean because I have a tune for cc305 but I'm currently running a gm847. However, I did have code 43 before the cam swap. I have absolutely no idea whats up with 16 or 33 though and have no idea what to do about them.

Re: Got 5 codes today. What exactly do they mean?
Just look in Shoebox's code list. 16 is for loss of low resolution pulse from the Opti. If the engine is running, its a "stored" code, because the engine can not run without the low res pulse.
33 means the manifold absolute pressure is too high at idle, indicating low engine vacuum. Poor tune, bad valve adjustment, misfires, faulty MAP sensor, cracked MAP sensor harness connector, etc.
43 is for a faulty knock sensor. Either the wire is disconnected or damaged or the sensor is dead.

Could the code 16 be from when I got so excited to start the engine and I forgot to connect the coil wire to the opti?
Re: Got 5 codes today. What exactly do they mean?
So if i had a spark plug wire come loose, it would cause misfire? and that would cause code 33? I'm just so damn frustrated because for the first two days it ran fine. Then I went out and cranked it up the other morning and its running like dog ****.
Re: Got 5 codes today. What exactly do they mean?
Would the breather line that runs from the valve cover to the throttle body being cracked have an effect on the manifold absolute pressure sensor?
Re: Got 5 codes today. What exactly do they mean?
The cracked vent line will not affect MAP, since the port actually terminates in front of the throttle blades. It would result in unfiltered air bypassing the MAF and causing the long term fuel corrections to elevate. Couple that with some misfires, and you could be seeing the "lean" codes.
