Going to a mechanical Autometer Speedo
Going to a mechanical Autometer Speedo
I have an 1994 LT1 camaro, and I installed the accel dfi stand alone... I basically lost all the gauges, but I want to go all aftermarket autometers anyways. My question is I want to use the autometer speedometer, and I wonder if any of you guys know if they have an adapter or some wireing that is basically plug in play to plug into the stock sensor on the rear of the transmisson...
Any tips or info appriciated...
Thanks Mark Tisdale

Re: Going to a mechanical Autometer Speedo
How come you "lost all the gauges"? The oil pressure, coolant temp, system voltage and fuel level are not driven off the PCM. The DFI should have a tach output signal. And you could just keep your stock PCM in place to feed the speedo.
The 4th Gen trannies have electronic outputs..... why not get an AutoMeter electronic speedo instead of a mechanical one? They make them to interface with factory sensors.

I got rid of the stock pcm, the oil pressure, speedo, etc. are not included on teh dfi harness... I am going to have to go aftermarket...
The mechanical gauges seem to be more accurate.
