Re: going to buy LTCC, NEED ADVICE!!!!

you'll have to either make the bracket to mount the coils yourself, mount them on the lower radiator shroud, check thunderracing under the ls1 section in ignition to find a relocator bracket...you could rig this to work and it comes with wires.

taylor universal wires work if you get the OPTI kit with it.

if you have universal MSD wires they should fit but they may not work because there's been some problems with teh ltcc setup and low resistance wires.

The LT1 spark plug wires work. The end that normally connects to the opti will plug into the LS1 coil. Just have to get the length right.

does length matter other than being long and ugly?

there is no one that makes a bracket? yet somany people with the kit, did they all make their own? i can do it but dang i have seen some real clean set ups with bracktes, i was hopin to find one premanufactured.

also i have the msd 8mm wires.... are they applicable with the LS1 coils and the LTCC controler?

why dont the LS1 brackets work? or do they?

You will have to find a way to mount the LS1 brackets to the valve covers. On the driver's side at one time I welded a couple of studs to the top of the valve cover to mount the LS1 bracket. That worked fine but, the passenger's side has the oil fill and fresh air breather in the way and couldn't use that set-up on that side. Now I just have them mounted up under the cowl and out of the way.
I have seen a picuture of brackets that some company made but, can't think of the name of them.
I have the MSD universal LT1 wire set and they work fine. Others have reported problems with the MSD though.

There were two companies that made brackets for the LTCC. MBA went out of business and I haven't heard anything about the other in quite a while. I'm afraid I don't recall the name entirely, something like Sun Machinery. You may ask Bob if he recalls the company name.
