going back to stock tb-any problems
Hello, after a couple of years with the shhhh sound of my BBK 52mm tb i want to go back to my airfoiled stock tb-want to see if this will correct some minor issues im thinking im having--question is-this car was mail-order tuned with the 52mm tb--am i creating a problem going back to my stocker since the car was tuned with the 52mm tb? thanks Dwayne
for right now its sitting on toolroom shelf in case i get a wild hair and put it back on--today--Chritmas day i did the swap-so far no ses light( im good for getting one)--might/probaly imagination, but test drive it didnt seem quite as peppy--i know smaller tb--giving it a few more days to let me and the computer adjust--i bought a new tps for the swap-so i can just bolt it right up when i want to--dwayne
I actually thought throttle response was much better after going thru a BBK and then a Holley TB and then finally said screw it since no one seems to make a TB that performs as well as the stocker and has the correct iac passages...had tried numerous mods to fix them them both..BBK wouldn't idle right since there were no IAC air passages...Holley had same issue but there was a way to create one, then the blades wouldn't close completely as the return spring was too weak..fixed that and still didn't seem to operate as smoothly and act as responsive as the stocker...didn't give up any hp on the dyno with a GTP6 cam at the time so I know its not giving anything up with the smaller cam in there now.
yeah after going back to stock on christmas day, i think i may have lost some throttle responce-but im staying stock now to see if some issues get better-like a little rich condition-hadnt notice it as bad now with my stock tb, but still looking to see if it actually has help or if the wind is just blowing in a different direction--of course on the 52mm tb the tps could be off too--just playing around now- Dwayne
