gm847 rev/dyno question

I got a 847 cam in my car with stock heads (for now) and wondering what i should set my shift points for. Right now madz28 set the shift points for 6900 and im pretty sure thats too high for stock heads to flow. And it would be poitnless to rev to the moon and not make any power. Who has dynoed this cam on stock heads and where does the power start to fall off??

My cam pulled to 6500 shifted @ 6800 with a m6 6900 might be to high but the only way to tell is to put it on the dyno

This is the only internet ready graph i have it before it was tuned might be hard to read but it's something

356hp, thats pretty good. what supporting mods do you got with that too? So its looking like 6200 is the peak power, im gonna need to change this thing bad.

Are you sure that's where the shift points are? Or is that where he set the rev limiter?

that has to be the rev limiter.

Madz would never set the shift point that high on a stock headed car with a GM847

You would've been better off shifting much earlier since your peak was ~5600rpm. Shifting long after your power peak slows you down.

That was before a correct tune was installed, after the tune was adjusted the power band shifted and it peaked around 6400 with no fall off we figured with my shifting abilitys it was best to shift it around 6800 to keep it in the correct powerband.
