Re: Gm847

if youre just wanting a big lopey sound, you can go with a smaller cam and just tune the idle down.

Re: Gm847

I have a 95 cam only with the 847, 3k converter,3.23 gears and it drives like a dream, my next cam will be bigger, the 847 is very streetable and I have viturally no surge, if you take the time to tinker with it, you can get rid of the surge, I started with a pcmforless tune and went from there. From my experiace I am very happy and only wish I would have gone bigger but probably not much more left with stock heads, I think the 847 makes the most of the stock heads and is very street able. My best times are 7.89 at 89.62 with a 1.85 60', I have pulled some 1.79's 60's in crap weather so I think 12 flats or a high 11 isn't out of the question, this is also with a stock TB, I am getting a bigger TB and 4.30's so 11's should be cake after I get the suspension reset.

keep braging

this is the same cam i have i would say it you have a stock convertor you will have to upgrade to a higer stall. Other than that everything you listed sounds good but another good choice is the cc305 and 224-230 But there smaller more freindly in a smaller Ci motor like 350. Good price too.
