GM 1.6rr clearance?

I did a quick search but couldn't find anything, just need a quick response if possible. Will the Crane 1.6rr that come with the hot cam kit clear stock valve covers? Thanks!!

Re: GM 1.6rr clearance?

I'm pretty sure clearancing is necissary for those as well. They were designed to fit under the LT4 composite valve covers which don't have the inner braces like the stock stamped steel ones.
I had a link to a page that explained and provided pictures for the clearancing required to get the rockers to fit but the site seems to have been removed. All I had to do with my valve covers to get comp pro mags to fit was flatten the braces with a pair of linesmen pliers and use channel locks to flatten the bafflel a little. It took about an hour and a lot of putting the covers on and off to check thef it.

Re: GM 1.6rr clearance?

I have some stock valve covers that are cut inside to clear 1.6rrs if you would like to pick 'em up. I bumped up to LT4s after my rebuild. They're nice, but i'm not sure the 5 lbs of corvette plastic i got is worth $275.

email me if you like. glladewig@new.rr.com
