Fuel Ran Low...Gonna have fuel pump problems?

Well as the thread says. Driving home today I was low on fuel, the car never died but I had to really work it and convince it up to the gas station, barely made it. The SES lights started blinking right as I made it to the gas station, pulled the fuse and reset it though. Car started right up and ran fine after I filled up. Think I'm going to have any problems cause of this, like a burnt up fuel pump??

it's quite possible because the fuel pump uses the fuel to cool itself. only time will tell.........

It's hard to tell. I had the exact same situation happen to me long time ago when I wasn't aware of the consequences of running the car low on gas. I ran it out of gas several times until I got to the gas station. (long story, but I couldn't add enough gas at a time and it was raining bad too)
I now realize how lucky I was that the car ran fine after all that. Yours may run just fine for a while as well, but you may see the consequences of this later or you might just be lucky and nothing will happen.

Either way, if you're running low on gas, the fuel pump gets hot and that will obviously reduce its life or kill it completely. Definetely not worth taking the chances of driving like that, IMO.

Hey

I dont think u will have a prob with it. The most important thing to do is change ur fuel filter. I do mine every time i change the oil (i just exchange it at Prep Boz) but only costs like 10 bucks i think.

Well anyway i think u will be fine!
