Fuel Pump Replacement
Fuel Pump Replacement
Fuel pump died on me a few days ago, got sent the wrong one at the auto parts store, so decided to order the racetronix kit with the walbro 255.
Anyways, any tips on getting the assembly back into the tank?
Still got the old one in there, tried to put it back in simply to plug up the tank, cant get the thing to turn so the top lines up though once its in.

thanks for the thread link...
Got the old pump out earlier today...
Mainly wondering how to get the whole assembly back INTO the tank correctly.
Cant put it back in with the top lined up, gotta start with it pointing at 9 for it to go down into the tank.
Prob is, I cant get it fully down into the tank, and the top pointing the correct way and seated.
(assuming the hinged assembly has something to do with it)

will fuel spill out if removing the lines? cause im checking out my floater valve to see if it is stuck.........cause i cant get the whole thing out cause of the lines...removing all 4 lines or just 2? and will it cause it to spill gas?
Re: Fuel Pump Replacement
Even after the new pump was in, I had to pull the assembly back out to fix the gas guage (float broke... DOH).
Pulled the gas lines off, not a whole lot came out in pulling the full fuel lines off.
Just put a towel or somethin under them to catch any that comes out.
If your expecting the gas to come squirting out under pressure, it wont.
Additional: I pulled all 4 lines off just to make it easy, they arent hard to put back on, no use in having to fight lines that are still connected.

Re: Fuel Pump Replacement
Reinstalling the pump is kinda tricky. We have messed up shaped gas tanks in f-bodys. I had to fight mine few mins too. disconnect all 4 lines or you are making it hard on yourself. bleed pressure off lines before removing them. I thought the wire plug in front of axle was harder than the lines to get at. when i saw where the lines connect, i just cut my hole bigger and got right to them.
