Doesn't sound like you're missing anything. Drop the rockers in a coffee can of oil tonight and they'll be nice and soaked by the time you install them.

Chenge out the valve stem seals. They're cheap; it only makes sense, you're in that far anyway.

Does autozone carry them. Im going there anyway for the assembly lube and the valve seals. Also, the much needed spring compressor. But i can keep the old retainers in, correct??

Yep, Autozone should carry them. Sorry, I don't have any good tips to share. At the time I did the job, I have never touched the valvetrain on a V8. I did it the easiest way I thought I could do it without screwing anything up (cylinder to cylinder method, in order). So far I've got almost 10,000 miles on the engine since I did the rocker swap and haven't had to go back, so I feel I did SOMETHING right.

Dont forget a small magnet to remove the valve locks. I also recommend changing out the valve seal there are very cheap to get. I just replace a couple on my car from NAPA for $1.90 each. If you need any tips just search for shoebox site and I belive he might have a how to section.
