Fuel problem
Fuel problem
Okay, I got a darn fuel problem again, well i think it's fuel related. On Idle the cars FP bounces around 37-40. It's hardly ever still. I think it's causing my ****ty idle. If i turn my a/c on, the car eventually dies. With it off it still idles choppy. There is a strong smell of fuel and also if it's not the gas price increase, i think it's averaging 4-5 mpg less. I don't even think im getting 10mpg now. My car is lt4 hot cammed,All bolt ons,30lb injectors, 3000 stall. Also i'm getting a sqeaky belt sound, tightened the tensioner but sound is still there.
Re: Fuel problem
Your fuel pressure is directly related to intake vacuum as there's a vacuum line from the intake to the fuel pressure regulator. A choppy idle will cause your fuel pressure to move. You can isolate the two by temporarily removing the vacuum line from the FPR and prove that your fuel pressure is steady.
Did you have your computer reprogrammed after installing the 30# fuel injectors?
Squeaky belts are most often cured by replacing the belt.

Re: Fuel problem
Opti,Plugs,Wires all have less than 3k. I replaced belt w/tensioner sqeaking is all gone now. Idle is still rough, What bothers me the most is not being able to turn my A/C untill im moving and this Texas heat is cooking me.
