Fuel pressure problems. Need assistance on an inline pump.

Background: I have a 99 wrangler with a 95 LT1 from a buick roadmaster. Shorty block hugger headers, 1LE intake elbow with K&N filter. New FMS 24lb injectors. Deleted emissions. Reworked harness from Dana at lt1350.com.

I've been searching out fuel pump related issues and most just state to replace the stocker pump. Only, I never had one of those. There aren't many threads here dedicated to external pumps.

I am running a fuel cell with sump and I am looking to upgrade my fuel pump. Currently I am running a E2000 Mcmaster fuel pump made for Ferds. I originally went with this pump for ease of accessibility. If I get stuck on the trail because of a fuel pump I would like to be able to find it anywhere. Now I just don't think it will cut it.

Info:

Key on, engine off I get 36psi.

Pull the vacuum line at idle and I get the proper jump up to 42-44psi.

With the engine running and just working the throttle I can get the pressure to drop down to ~30psi. I haven't been able to run it under load at WOT because my hose isn't long enough on the pressure gauge. So now I'm looking for a heavy duty fuel pump to run inline.

I've searched out walbro but I'm really confused on their selections. I called summit tech and they offered up a mallory fuel pump. It is part number 4060fi.

well, if you have 400 or so to spend an aeromotive, IMO, would be the "best"
but....in reality, nobody ever REALLY needs an aeromotive pump

ok, other than a 400 dollar pump. What is a good, economical, efficient pump in the 1-200 range?

is it the stock regulator on it? can you change that?

Accel makes an inline pump for EFI....

if you are asking about the stock fuel pressure regulator then yes, I can change it.

if the pump will supply enough fuel then you could change the pressure with an ajustable reg. or buy 2 of those pumps and run them at the same time....

I have a Bosch 205 LPH inline pump that came with my NOS 5176 dry kit. Its basically the same pump used in a Porsche Turbo. It will support 500 flywheel HP, and has very high flow at elevated pressures. I run a pair of them now.... one in the tank in the stock location, and another (the one that came with my NOS kit 13 years ago) running off a sump at the bottom/back of my stock tank. These pumps are extremely reliable. The are frequently referred to as the "208" series pump. Not cheap, but not ridiculously expensive. I think its the same pump that Accel relabels at their own brand, and claims is good for 700HP, but it isn't really good for much more than 500.
