Fuel lines?

Fuel lines?

Why did GM locate the Fuel Lines where they did? Why couldnt they have routed them along the firewall and then to the fuel rail? I think the engine bay would look much cleaner if that was done. Can it be done or is that not possible? Thanks!

Sure you can relocate them.... but I wouldn't put "plastic" any place hotter than where GM put it. There are reports of fires caused when the plastic lines have fallen out of a broken support ring and landed on the AIR connection.

I have dual -6AN braided S/S lines for supply and return, running to the back of the engine/fuel rails from near the front subframe. Looks cleaner, although I still have the EEC vent line in the stock location. But is a costly conversion.
