-AN Fuel Line Conversion, Fitting sources?
-AN Fuel Line Conversion, Fitting sources?
I'm looking to convert my plastic fuel lines to teflon lined, -6 braided lines. I found the correct fittings for the fuel rails. http://performanceplumbing.com/New_Products.html product #5800.
However, what about the hardlines under the drivers area? I am only looking to replace from below the drivers area to the fuel rail for now, not the back half of the car. Are the fittings for the fuel rail the same design as those where the hardline & plastic lines clip together? If so then I just need two sets of #5800. If not, does anyone know a source?

Same place sells what you need....

You may need to request make them longer than 24", something more in line with the factory length of lines if you want to route them the same exact way.

Nothing personal, but why convert the complete line? You're converting to the exact size of the stock line -6 = 3/8". With that in mind, I'm going to assume its not because of fuel volume needs. Why not save some money and just convert the inner fender lines to the manifold?
What is the reason you're wanting to convert the lines? Looks? Aftermaket maifold/fuel rails?
Just curious

actually, that is what I'm doing. Just replacing the plastic lines from the fuel rail to the hard lines where they terminate under the driver. Hardlines from there back will remain. I'm replacing as I think mine may have been compromised (melted a little). This is a race car see my website those lines are way too short as you mention, I did see those before. by using their rail adaptors I can run -6 90 degree fittings & hose from there to under the car and to the hard lines. thats what I'm trying to figure out. how to adapt to the hard lines. I could use a -6 to 3/8 compression fitting but I'm weary of the compression style and didn't want to cut the lines. My interpretation of that item was that it was from 3/8 & 5/16 (fuel rail) lines and then includes some adaptors to the braded lines where you also need to flare the metal line. I might rather custom make them myself w/ braided line & swivel fittings while I can test fit them on the car instead of measuring & ordering hoping there is no mistake somewhere (yes, simple I know).

If the lines under the car are bundy fittings w/ the duckbill connectors then I can just use two sets of #5800 pure choice adaptors.

what are you planning on racing with the original steel lines under the car? Tricycles!

Not sure why you're ridiculing the guy.... what difference does it make why he wants to make the change. If you can't contribute something positive to a thread, it might be a good idea to keep your wise-*** remarks to yourself.
Using braided S/S fuel lines on a "race car" is a good idea, and mandated by various racing organizations/classes. I run a fully braided S/S fuel system, from the pumps (one in the tank and one outside the tank) to the rails, and all the way back to the tank on the return. It a smart thing to do.
