fuel line broke???
fuel line broke???
i was swappin my opti today and i noticed a small black plastic hose that goes under the throttle body(couldnt follow it after that cuz of water pump hoses) and it goes back into the fuel line tube. anybody have any idea what it is and how i can fix it
Re: fuel line broke???
Yea, the other end plugs into some vacume thing on the passenger side of the intake. If you look, I'm sure you'll see it. It just pulls off there and the other end that goes into where the fuel lines are also just pulls out and then you replace it with a new one.
Re: fuel line broke???
Its part of the purge system that pulls vapor out of the charcoal canister in the driver's rear fender, and sends it through the EEC purge solenoid on a bracket on the passenger side of the intake manifold, to the lower port on the passenger side of the throttle body.
What year is your car? You need to add a "signature" with basic info about your car, like year, trans type and any major mods. Helps people answer tech questions correctly, since not all years are the same. In this case there are different configurations for the EEC purge tubing, because OBD-II (96/97) added a flow detector switch. But the tubing that runs from the fuel line bundle to the purge solenoid should be roughly the same, except for the valve.
When you need info on routing, component locations, assembly diagrams, go to Shoebox's Tech Pages:

He has the diagrams for the two versions of the EEC purge tubing on that site. This is tne 96/97 version.
