Header egr tube

Hello i was wonderin if anyone ever left there egr tube open on the right side header?Would it burn the the motor harness that is right next to the trans dipstic,will it burn throw plastic cover covering the harness?

Uhm... It'll do all that and a bag of chips. You'll have a nice exhaust leak, your o2 on passanger side will show a very lean condition, pcm will pull timing and you'll run pretty rich.

Just spend $20ish for the 3 plate EGR blockoff kit from steve. ( http://www.mycamaroz28.homestead.com/ )

NO!! = BAD

Lots of unwanted things will happen including noise, rough running if running, CO inside the car, O2 sensors going out quick. BAD BAD BAD

I didnt think it was a good idea i just wanted to make sure it wasnt going to start a fire i kinda was thinkin it would but needed someones word lol

Over an extended period of time, realistically you could. I drove for about 30 minutes with my egr tube blown. Luckily it was at the manifold where the tube came out so the exhaust just blew onto my firewall. So of course I've got a load of exhaust **** on my firewall.

There's a very good chance you will burn the #8 cylinder exhaust valve by running with that hole in the header.
