Fuel issue
Fuel issue
So if the car is hard to start..like i let it turn for 8 sec and no start and then right after.. it starts right up and shoots to 2K and slowly comes to a steady good idle then runs flawless..plus leans out above 4K would you say its the pump..injectors..or regulator?
Re: Fuel issue
oh also when i turn the key to KOEO i dont hear the fuel pump priming..does this sound like a bad fuel pump or somehing else bc when its running its fine (except under high rpm)
Re: Fuel issue
Check the fuel pressure:
-at idle, vacuum line off (plugged) 41-47psi
-reconnect vacuum compensation line, pressure should drop in proportion to your intake manifold vacuum.... 8psi for a stock cam, 3-5psi for something a bit more aggressive.
-tape gauge to windshield, take it out on the road, pressure at WOT/max load/max rpm should be within 2psi of the "no vacuum" reading.
After shutting car off, turn key to on, note the pressure. Shut key off and see how fast the pressure bleeds down. Should not drop very fast.
