fuel filter

fuel filter
Hey Members,
I would like to fit my Lt1 with the proper fuel filter. I am currently using a universal in-line type, but I am not sure I am getting the
correct fuel flow. I can locate a stock filter from the local parts store, but it
has a special inlet which looks like a female flare connection for the fuel line.
I am currently using just rubber hose connections. What is the proper hard
line connection at this end? Thanks.

Re: fuel filter
Why not check the fuel pressure under full engine load, to determine if the fuel flow is adequate?
The inlet to the stock filter is a GM "quick-connect". The filter will come with a plastic pinch clip that is required to hold the end of the stock black nylon line in the filter. Right column on Shoebox's guide:

Outlet of the stock filter will have a threaded connection to the stock metal hard line.

Re: fuel filter
Since you're working with a non-stock chassis, I would consider using -AN fittings with braided SS lines. I have a fully braided SS fuel system, with an SX Billet fuel filter, good for 1,000 HP, in the stock position. -6AN line is more than adequate.
