fuel delivery and pressure regulator questions..

I have a 93 Z28 w/A4. my car has 150k miles on it. I belive it is the stock fuel pump, pressure regulator and injectors. I recently had my fuel filter changed and it was full of a bunch of crud. I mean bad crud and lots of it. The guy who changed it said I had decreased fuel pressure from it. The car ran MUCH better with new filter. I have done a few mods since then but I have some questions..
1. What are the odds of the clogged filter causing a weakening of the fuel pump?
2. at 150k should I change it anyways since it is being hard to crank in the mornings and/or after it sits a while.
3. Should I get a new pressure regulator? what kind and what kind of settings with a few bolt ons and GM 24lb/hr injctrs?
4. Anyone cut a hole in the trunk floor to access the fuel pump? will that work? just an idea...??...lol
5. Can you guys gimme the links to instructions of how to change fuel pump, pressure regulator and injectors?

Sorry about all the questions, but I need to get this all straight.

THANKS!!!!!

btw:
I know 93 is 22lb/hr but I bought some 24 lb/hr injectors

Have you tried a search for doing the fuel pump by cutting a hole in the car? There is a website with pics (don't remember the URL) and it is discussed often. I would check the pressure with a gauge before going to the trouble, though.

You might want to read this about forum etiquette, too: http://web.camaross.com/forums/showt...&threadid=5485

a search has probably already led you to the answers you seek but I'll give it a try anyways. To check the fuel pres. reg. just take off the vacume line that goes to it and check for fuel. To test the pump the best way is to check is with a fuel pres. gauge it should be around 41-47psi I believe. You can also check the reg. by clamping the return fuel line with some pliers and see if the pressure increases if it does it's your reg. if it stays the same it's your pump.

I am guilty of TTT-ing. I have seen alot of ttt too and thought it was "the thing to do." I apologize for cutting out someone else's post with my to the top reply.
I will try this procedure for testing the pressure regulator and check schroeder valve for pump pressure. I thought the guy who changed my filter 3 weeks ago checked my fuel pressure, but he never told me the results. He might have assumed the clogged filter was the problem and not checked pressure!

Which one is the return line from the regulator?
what is that link from "uark.edu" or whatever it is called to fuel pressure testing?
THANKS!!
