Also, what are the disadvantages of descreening the MAF? As long as I have a good air filter I don't see why it'd be a problem. Is it easy to do or is there a high risk in damaging the MAF while doing this mod?

All the 1LE elbow is is the regular rubber elbow that goes between the MAF and TB but instead of having a hole for the donkey dong, it is solid. If you take your rubber elbow off and look at it from underneath (or just slide under your car and look up) you can visualize what it would look like with a cap there.

As far as descreening the MAF, do a search. That is a 5+ page debate every time it gets brought up (and it gets brought up about every month or so). Basically, for a stock engine with stock tune, it seems to work OK. However the general consensus is that it messes with your custom tune as you get into more advanced modding. The screen and fin don't protect your MAF, they straighten the air. The MAF is calibrated with that in mind. As for me, I have a ported/descreened MAF and it works fine so far. If it gives me problems, I'll find a regular one.
