Found the source of my LT header noise

This is FYI about the ticking noise I had resonating from under my car after installing Jet-Hot LT headers.

Turned out the EGR tube was leaking from the header port. The end of the tube was out of round. A shop in Austin welded a new and much thicker end to the EGR tube and this now seals the headers. The noise sounded like it came from under the car because of the heat shielding deflecting the noise.

I also found that a small valve tick will always be heard with these. The header pipes act like amplifiers for valve noise.

Anyhow, if anyone else has ticking headers.... this could be your prob.

I'll be installing my Jet-Hot LTs w/emissions hookups here in the next month or so. So, thank you for taking the time to post this tidbit of information!

Same with me. All my friends though I had a leaking gasket but it turned out to be a loose connection at the EGR tube.
