Re: Forged pistons

Diamond also makes a good forged piston for the LT1 that isn't going to cost you a arm & a leg. The quality is a lot better than the speed pro also. If you have any questions on these give us a call and we can go over them.

Thanks

Re: Forged pistons

I have Speed-Pro forged pistons with coated skirts in my engine. Absolutely no piston slap on startup. Great pistons if you ask me. I got them as part of a package deal, but they're very reasonably priced.

Wiseco makes a decent piston.

Re: Forged pistons

I have had the speed pro pistons that look almost identical to the stock Hyper piston (except for skirt and ring lands) and they are quite heavy. But very durable.

If you want to pay just 150$ more than these the SRP, Diamond , and Probe pistons are right around there together and are a much lighter and same strength (except for the Probe). The Probes are a nice peice though and can fit tightly because of the alloy used. But if your plans are large amounts of nitrous I would use the SRP, Diamond, Weisco, Ross, venolia etc. But the price escalates along with the list. But for 500 $ the SRP/JEs are worth every penny.
