fitting 1.6rr and valve coverswith alternator?

How do I put 1.6rr and valve covers to fit with or without moving alternator?? My mechanic said that I have to move the alternator? do I? What do I need to make this set up work?

As I said on Bhamracing.com you will need to cut the supports in the stock valve covers or go with a set of the LT4 valve covers. Do a search on here it has been discussed hundreds of times.

Your mechanic is wrong, reuse the stock valve covers. Grind on the supports so they will fit between the roller rockers.

Or, you can use the GM Performance aluminum covers. I had to do a little "creative clearancing" on the back of my alternator, but it wasn't any big deal.

here's some pictures of them on my engine.

I used the ProForm tall aluminum covers and just ground the alternator until it fit. There are valve covers that are already notched here http://www.flatlanderracing.com/index.html

go to valve covers - Pro Line - Aluminum

LOL...Yea, but they don't have a Bowtie, and say CHEVROLET, like mine do.
Mine were only $170, chromed aluminum.

What rockers are you using???? If they are SA then you will not have to cut or grind any thing. If they are NSA then yes you will have to cut the supports on the covers. Either way if you want to take the covers off the alternator will have to be removed.
