use a stethoscope to determine if the injector is really dead. Put a stethoscope or long screw driver on the injector, then your ear on the other end. It should click.

If it doesn't, give it a light tap and see if it clicks then.

Fuel injectors take about 15 minutes.

It's 4 bolts on the fuel rail. Remove them, and pull the entire rail with injectors off and lay it upside down to keep gas from spilling. Be sure the car has sat for a while to relive pressure.

Oil the o rings going into the rail so they slide in easy. I've done it 5 times in the past couple months because of an injector problem.

I would pull the fuel rail up and slide a small bowl or something under the so called bad injector, turn the key to prime and see if fuel comes out of it.

If you need a set of stock injectors PM me. I have the set that came out of my 96Z (boxed up) from when I did my mods at 54k miles.

You should put an osciliscope (sp?) on a good injector to see what it reads. Then put it on your bad one and see if it is getting the same signal. If not then you might have a wireing problem.

Well the problem has gotten progressivly worse over time

When it first started happening it was barely noticeable, and then it just got worse and worse until now it seems like its running just on 7 cylinders.

This leads me to believe that its the actual injector just going bad vs an electrical problem.

So the Hanes manual has failed me once again

Theres nothing in there about injector replacement

and everyone keeps saying to be clean about it and take your time, so I assume theres some difficulty to it

Any writeups on the internet, or something else to look for in the index of the book that will bring me to the fuel injectors

or maybe your own tips

Thanks
