Faulty FPR ->Fuel Pump Failure?
Faulty FPR ->Fuel Pump Failure?
Been trying to figure out what is wrong with my car for the longest time... I think I'm getting closer but, then again I thought i've been close to solving in the past too
My car has a flutter at curising speeds only, at around 2000-2500 rpm only. I've replaced a whack of stuff on the car.
Anyhow, I did some scanning the other day and noticed both my left and right integrators (and BLMS) are low, meaning the car is rich. BLM's are at 117 for both sides and integrators are at 123/124 roughly (when idling).
While accellerating on the hwy it seems to go back to around 128 for both BLM's. The more throttle i give the closer it gets to the 128 mark.
I replaced my fuel pump not long ago, but lately and intermittantly have noticed my car losing a lot of power after 5000 rpm, just like when my fuel pump died a year ago.
Is this possibly a fuel pressure regulator problem? I've pulled the vac line off of the FPR while idling, didnt find any fuel leaking... yet it seems like its over pressuring the system when at lower RPM speeds. I do NOT have access to a fuel pressure guage (having a hard time buying a mech one locally might just get an electrical one). As soon as I can i'll try and get one but in the mean time:
1. Do you guys think its a fuel pressure regulator problem?
2. Could my High rpm powerloss be due to my fuel pressure regulator overworking my fuel pump by over applying pressure?
3. Could these problems be caused by anything else?
Any help would be great
