faster than my speedo

I thought that my clutch was slipping as I saw MPH up to 10 lower than what it should be according to gear/rpm calculations. I scanned the car last night and although my speedo said 50 some the scan showed 60+mph. When I slowly rev up it made it to the correct speed so I know the calibration isn't off. I've also matched it to radar displays. I think it just can't keep up with the car. Anyone else notice this on there car? It's a '94 with a 140k so I could imagine the gauge is pretty tired. Are there any speedo alternatives that would work in place or in addition. How about scanmaster. Can you set it to display the speed. I could do the a/c vent mount and leave it on the speed display(if there is such a thing) and have a more accurate speedo.

Thanks,
Ross

When I recently put my car on the dyno for the first time, I noticed that the dyno said that I got up to 140mph even though my speedometer never read over 135...
