Front air dam

My bud recently put a body kit on his car which came with a wider air dam to catch the air to hit the radiator can it be removed without overheating? Or will a stocker work on a body kit car?

If the new ground effects are low enough, a different air dam is needed. I would imagine they supplied the larger one because the stock one would not scoop up enough air.

I have a Wings West ground effects kit on my car. Without their supplied air deflector, the car does get very hot. I believe the larger air deflector is a requirement... at least with the Wings West ground effects.

So i guess taking it off is out. It scrubs on his bad. I have a lowered car so is there any hope for me getting a body kit and not beating it to death on the road? For my bud tho could he lower to thermastat? Is there any posslible way to rid of the air dam and not heat? His car is at stock height, the bigger air dam on his scrubs over small speed bumps and when u hammer the brakes.

Taking it off is not an option. Even removing it on a stock car will result in overheating at speed. Not enough air will pass through the radiator. I would not want to recommend rigging the fans on all the time as an alternate solution, but there, I said it.

Yes you need it on the WW kit, without it will get hot. (trust me, lol).

If you really dont want to run the longer air dam, look into a kit like the F1, where the front lip piece is open, allowing air to pass.
