Fan problems

I just changed out my plug wires, and installed a 160 thermostat. Now, my cooling fans come on constantly while driving, as well as the ses light. When I stop, after a while the fans go off, as well as the ses light. Then when I start going again, the light and the fans come back on. Does anyone know what the problem is?

Re: Fan problems

Get it scanned to see what the problem is. The fans come on when the SES does. That's normal.

Re: Fan problems

Check for any wires you left unplugged. Like the IAT sensor, or the MAF, or any of the other wires you disconnected.

Re: Fan problems

I checked connections and found all seemed to be good. It started after I did 160 thermo. From a 180, and otvc plug wires. The fans and service engine light come on after the car has warmed up, when driving, or put in park. It goes off(light, and fans) when in drive, but stopped. Ive realized it comes on above 500 rpm, cause in drive at idle, it goes off, and im around 500 rpm. When in park, im around 600 or so rpm. I cant get it scanned till tommorow, so Im just seein if anyone has had this problem before. havent checked thermostat.

Sorry to bring up an old thread, but i am having this same exact problem and didnt want to start a brand new thread.

I had my car scanned today and it said "Fan 1 electrical fault". Anyone know what it could be? As stated above, the fan along with SES light turns on while being driven, and then both turn off when sitting at a light or when car is stationary. Thanks!
