yeah... learn why you bent the 7 that you bent. i dont understand did the rocker jump off the pushrod from being too loose or what. i'm just curious what your valve spring clearance looks like at max lift... and what kind of setup are we talking about here springs rockers cam etc etc.

le2 cam with 1.6 rr... Lloyd matched the springs to the cam... and 7.25 pushrods.... i also tried to crank it when it was out of time... didnt know it was out of time at the time... accidently lined the dots on the crank keyway to the cam instead of the dot on the crank tooth

Re: failed the pushrod test

So you fixed the timing problem right? If the cam was off enough then the valves would hit the pistons which can bend pushrods.. of course bend valves too.

Re: failed the pushrod test

I'd get an adjustable push rod to check the geometry before automatically installing +.050 push rods. JMHO

Re: failed the pushrod test

Hey: If someone told you to go with longer rods, then by all means do it.

Re: failed the pushrod test

What you're told to go with and what you need are 2 different things. Lifter height, cam base circle, etc variations determine pushrod length. We all know that for some reason or another what works on one car and another even with the exact same combination can cause slight variation in geometry. To be sure, use a checker to confirm. Its worth it over the potential and very costly damage that can occur.

As far as adjustment goes, I could only get it right with the car running and I found it a lot faster/easier.

Re: failed the pushrod test

You may very well go with the longer rods. I believe with the comp lifters the preset is very close to 0 lash: however, it is my opinion, that whatever you set it at, you should make certain that the RRs maintain contact with the valves unless you want noisey RRs and/or the possiblility of smacking a keeper with a misguided rocker and dropping a valve.
Just make sure that you adjustments aren't too loose, especially if you go with SA RRs. It's probably fortunate that you had non-hardened rods, otherwise you might have done more damage. JMHO

readjusted the new pushrods yesterday going by Shoebox's 1st method... car cranks up fine... but now it acts like its getting too much fuel? it wont idle but for like 5mins then cuts off and you have to press the accelerator to the floor for it to crank... it didnt act like this with the old pushrods it would crank fine and idle fine... any suggestions... also ive been seein a lot on data logs how do i get a data log on my pcm
