Factors that effect trap speed on 1/4?

Well, since the first day I was at the track with a HotcamKit and 1.6 rockers, full exhaust, long tubes, 2800 stall, 3.73 gears and all the free mods/bolt ons my car trapped 105.33 at 13.12mph. Now I have alll that plus a set of GTP stg 2 heads, and a few other things. My car is goin faster down the track at 12.553 at 107.83. Yes I know the times are much different, i'm not complaining, but I have been seein people with simular modification trapping much higher MPH. I am just curiouse what could be effecting this. Thanks guys.

I have the Hot Cam kit with stock heads and LT's my time was 13.5@105 with a 2.2 60ft. My car weighs 3400lbs.

I would say weight and gearing would play a big factor in trap speeds.

Besides the obvious: weight, power, and aerodynamics (more important the faster you go) air density plays a HUGE role. Wind speed and direction can also be quite important if it's windy. Without knowing somethjing about the conditions, it's not really useful to compare runs from different cars on different days.

The main variables in air density are barometric pressure, temperature, and humidity. Good conditions = high barometer, low humidity, low temperature. And v.v.

also a m6 is gonna trap higher than an a4, because they have less driveline loss, which means more horsepower to the wheels, but they will still run about the dame times because the a4 will have a better 60' time because they launch better.

Gear and HP will effect MPH the most.
The name of this game is quick and MPH is at the back.

Would tires make any difference. I am running my 275/45/75's in the front then a set of MT ET Drags with Bogarts in the rear. If I had skinnies would that help out at alll?

how much u spin off the line will also play a factor in trap speed. The more you spin , the high your trap speed should be. Were u running slicks on that very first run?
