Exhaust Manifold Gaskets

How much do these go for and where could I pick these up? before I get headers I need to do a catback first, and I'd like to see if my exhaust leak... at least i think thats what it is... is fixable. I can hear a ticking on acceleration. Would it be noticeable if the exhaust manifold gaskets were blown out just by looks or feel? I'm also wondering if it could be my rockers ticking, because i can definately hear ticking more on the drivers side than on the left at idle. This might just be my imagination though. Are there gaskets I would need to replace for my valve covers?

Plus just having the knowledge of replacing the exhaust manifold gaskets might make me brave enough to attempt the install header install myself when i get around to them. Save a few hundred dollars.

I think if you get GM OEM gaskets from the dealership they are like 17.00 a piece.

Check your collector/flange gasket on the drivers side ... I bet it's leaking. This is the gasket at the bottom of the manifold, not the one where it connects to the head. It's a pretty common exhaust leak.

i heard a metal ticking noise under acceleration for al ong time also, my dad is a technician, and he swore it was a loose rocker arm, it turned out to be an exhaust manifold gasket.

Yeah im not sure if its the rockers I was going to check my drivers side before school but then i realized oil + clothes + no time = not so good....

Does anybody have a problem of the battery shaking somewhat violently in park at idle? If i just lightly restrain it it stops, is this a battery bracket/mount or whatever or is this somewhat normal

Check for a broken bolt too.. seems common on these engines especially the rearmost drivers side..
