exhaust/headers question
exhaust/headers question
Alright, so I'm kind of new to camaros (at least 4th gens), I used to have a 85 iroc with a swapped in L98 that was actually quite quick (13s) and sounded good, but little loud for daily.
Now I am picking up a 94 z28 (A4 unfortunately), and it is stock. I want something that is decently quiet with a little rumble under slight acceleration, but will open up and be extremely lively under WOT. I have a friend w/ a 67 camaro w/ a 327 and dynamax headers and idk what exhaust (havent asked him) and its decently quiet under normal, but u cant bare to be around it if he revs it up.
Does anybody have ideas?
I'm thinking about SLP headers and a hooker catback or something.

Re: exhaust/headers question
go with pacestter LTs (coated) and a magnaflow catback. one of the supporting vendors here, Tbyrne motorsports is doing a magnaflow group purchase. i got my catback from them for $269 and it is all stainless w/ polished muffler and tips
Re: exhaust/headers question
I'd use muffler selection to tune sound and pick a set of headers that meet
your budget and performance requirements. The Hooker catback will give you
the sound you want.
Do you want long-tubes or shorties/mids?

Re: exhaust/headers question
I agree, the Hooker catback or even the SLP or GMMG will give you a loud exhaust note. The Magnaflow is a good catback, but a bit too tame in my opinion. Another thought would be to have a true-dual setup fabbed up.
