Everyones take on the huge tach shift lite subject.
I've got an Autometer shiftlite on top of my dash...Wired into my factory tach. I shift off the shift lite when racing, but use the (very inaccurate) factory tach for tuning.
Shift lite in an automatic? This might because I SHIFT the car...LOL.

If you need a light to tell you when to shift you should'nt be driving, honestly when i'm racing I just shift,I dont even look at my rpm's i just know when to shift.I'm sure you guys know your car's aswell. Shift light? we dont need no stinking shift light....

not tryin to start anything just sayin thats hard to do but if you can do it with out thinking the rev limiter is supposed to be hit normally more power to you.
Who woulda thought Injuneer was a closet ricer?
But seriously, they look stupid on cars that don't really need them. It's like putting a 6" cowl hood on a stock car.
My factory tach is off by about 400 RPM above 5k. I put a shiftlight on top of the steering column, and can watch the tach and the light at the same time.

Keep peggin that rev limiter with those 3.73s and youll be wishin you would at least glance at your tach when your driven. Your one of those guys that shifts after bouncing off the rev limiter 3 or 4 time before you decide it time to go into second arent you.

but lower model civics have no tachs. The civic CX for example, and most DX's dont have tachs. When they decide to race their 73hp beast, they must know how much they are winding up their monster and know when to shift for optimal horsepower. Many of the civic owners need them because the stock tach doesnt go high enough in the RPM range to register their new B16 motor is spinning 9k RPM
that is the origin of the "ricers" using huge 5" tachs
