I didnt think the 306 was a HUGE cam. I know there are bigger like the 847 but Im figuring why put a mild cam in when the 306 is only slightly bigger but has more top end. right now I shift at 6700-6800 and she loves it, and is still pulling hard, thats the only way I can beat my friend with a 355 cammed TPI. I think for right now im going to stay away from the E-WP I have a bran new water pump and opti sitting in a box so no need really.

Another thing, do I need to replace the cam bearings?

To replace cam bearings your engine needs to be a bare block out of the car. A machine shop will have to press them in.
